* Blames Media, Executive, Judiciary And Legislative Arms of Government For Nigeria's System Failure
By Princess Simon (Bureau Chief North Central, in Minna)
Former Kano Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's Igbo annointed political son, Mazi Ezebuilo Ceejay Henry, has indicated interests to represent Ideato North and South federal constituency, Imo state on the platform of, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general elections.
Ezebuilo, who is calling for attitudinal change among Nigerians, political class in particular, said he has plans to establish a multi million Naira electricity powered Tricycle assembly plant in Niger state, to honour former Nigerian President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), whom he described as his 'political hero'.
Mazi Ezebuilo who spoke to journalists shortly after visiting former President, Babangida at his Minna, Niger state capital uphill residence, said he is working in collaboration with his United States based business partners to establish the, "IBB Technological Centre", aimed at creating at least 1, 500 jobs for Nigerlites.
"I am in Niger state to inform my mentor and hero, His Excellency, Ibrahim Babangida of my political intentions, to receive his blessings. To also share my plans to provide jobs for jobless youths through investment in Tricycle assembly plant".
Asked why in Niger and not any of the eastern parts of the country where he hails from, Ezebuilo said his love for IBB, his philosophy about Nigeria endeared him to the elderstatesman. And this, according to him, prompted his choice of Niger state for the dual electricity and fuel powered Tricycle investment plant.
"IBB Technological Centre is to provide for a start, 1, 500 jobs. We want to replicate what we have done in two other African countries here in Niger state", Ezebuilo who is the Chairman, SHEZ Energy further explained.
Meanwhile, the Ideato North and South federal constituency hopeful has called for attitudinal change in political mentality of Nigerians, stating that Nigerians always direct attacks on the executive arm of government alone, leaving out the legislature, judiciary and of course the media who is fourth in estate of the realm.
"When you blame the Executive for failing to execute well, you should equally hold legislators for not legislating well, the judiciary for not doing their bits by being unbiased and quick in dispensation of justice, and you journalists for not exposing the rot in your writings when you see things going wrong".
He argued that, "Blames or criticisms should be across all four arms that constitutes government, not singling out the executive as the case has always been. Hold your legislators, judiciary and you the media accountable for systemic failures".
Ezebuilo who however blamed current lapses in the legislature, National Assembly in particular to incompetence, added that until Nigerians vote for merit and not for the sake of filling quota system, failures will always occur.
While calling on voters to vote for people who are competent as President, Senators, Governors, members Federal House of Representative, and State Houses of Assemblies in 2027, Ezebuilo is also advising people against vying for positions when they have little or no knowledge of what they are going to do.
"Citizens suffer when you have people who have nothing to offer as leaders, and that is why I am calling on Nigerians to hold the legislators representing them at the various levels accountable for their stewardship". NNL.
