The Inspector-General of Police IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Wednesday March 18, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Charles SOLUDO, as part of activities marking his second term inauguration.

The police IG was represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the South East Zone, DIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie.

During the visit at the Government House, Awka, governor Soludo congratulated the Inspector-General of Police and the Deputy Inspector-General on their recent appointments. He noted that their leadership comes at a critical time when enhanced security collaboration is essential for sustaining peace and economic development in Anambra State.

Governor Soludo further emphasized the importance of continuous synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and the State Government, assuring the Police boss and the Police State Command of his administration’s support in strengthening the security architecture and improving public safety across Anambra State.

Also during the conversation, the State Government seeks the Police enforcement in a harmonious Traditional leadership tussle in the state, especially in Awka as the panel of enquiry concludes its findings.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, on behalf of the Inspector-General, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to deepening strategic partnerships with the State Government and other security stakeholders to ensure the protection of lives and property.

The DIG was accompanied for the courtesy visit by the Commissioner of Police Anambra State, Dr Ikioye Orutugu.

The visit underscored the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening collaboration with the State Government in ensuring sustained peace, security, and public safety across Anambra State and the South East region at large. NNL.
