Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has said his administration has set aside over two billion naira for fertilizer procurement for this year 2023 farming season.
The governor made the disclosure when he received the entourage and councils members of the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, at the Government House in Bauchi.
He explained that the first batch of the money is to supply adequate fertilizer to peasant farmers, adding that additional fund would also be approved.
According to governor Mohammed, "Bauchi as an agrarian state with vast landmarks, would help millions of farmers have access to the commodity for bumper harvests".
The former FCT minister also used the occasion to appreciate and commended the people of the State for having confidence in him which they have demonstrated by voting him for a second term term in office as governor, assuring the citizens of Bauchi State of his administration's readiness to build on the existing infrastructural development in the State.
On the part of security, the governor pledged to work in close relationship with all security operatives to ensure that the lives and properties of the people in the state are safe.
He, however, called on the citizens to pray patiently for the State and his administration's success during his second term in office from 29th may 2023. NNL.
