The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has intensified efforts to revive basic education by rehabilitating dilapidated public schools across Bauchi North Senatorial District, warning communities against acts of vandalism.

The Director of School Services, Mallam Zuhairu Usman, issued the warning during an inspection tour of schools currently undergoing renovation, alongside education stakeholders, community and religious leaders.

Usman explained that the intervention, which includes the replacement of collapsed roofing structures and rehabilitation of deteriorated facilities, is aimed at providing a safe and conducive learning environment for pupils.

Schools benefiting from the exercise include Zubo, Hurare, Galdimari, Wambiyo, Gudda, Zadawa, Duhuwar Kura, Itas and Darazo Primary and Junior Secondary Schools.

He attributed the poor state of school infrastructure to prolonged neglect, windstorms and vandalism, particularly the activities of scrap dealers, stressing that the board would not tolerate further damage to public school property. NNL.
