Flood disaster, on Friday, destroyed residences and properties worth millions of naira in Mayo Selbe, in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Reacting to the development, the third Class Chief (Kum) Mayo Selbe HRH. Kum Thomas Maiyanga Shaibu has appealed to both state and federal Government to assist the victims to rebuild their ruins.
The Friday, October 6, 2023 downpour in Mayo Selbe in Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba State resulted into a heavy flood disaster which destroyed residences, farm lands, and other goods and services of the local people.
This is the first time the area is witnessing such natural disaster which also led to the collapse of a bridge within the town.
Commenting on the sad development, the representative of the third Class Chief of Mayo Selbe, Wakili Sabana Ibrahim, called on Government, to, as matter of urgency, come to the aid of the community as the locals have lost virtually all their properties to the flood disaster.
He said the victims have been subjected to untold hardship as a lot of them currently don't have shelter and a place to lay their heads. NNL.
