Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has sacked his Special Adviser on Media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, over his alleged unguarded comments and utterances which are presumed to be inconsistent with the stand of their party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) government.

The governor's directive for the sacking of his media aide was conveyed in a statement on Saturday by the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba. He said the sack is with immediate effect.

Mallam Salihu Tanko-Yakassai is the son of a frontline politician and elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko-Yakassai.

According to the Commissioner, the aide had failed to differentiate between personal opinion and official stand on matters of public concern and therefore cannot be allowed to continue to serve in a government he does not believe in.

Governor Ganduje also warned political appointees and public servants to guard against making statements capable of drawing superfluous controversy.

The statement reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Ganduje to the policies and programs of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. NNL.
