The Managing Director of Nasarawa State Urban Development Board (NUDB), Engr. Wada Yahaya has warned residents of the state to register their properties and other housing structures or face the risk of demolition.
Wada, disclosed this on Monday, August 16, 2021, while briefing newsmen at the NUDB headquarters in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital. He said the board has already marked 200 houses for demolition, which the exercise will commence today, Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
The managing director noted that the board has intensively commenced sensitization on Monday in Lafia and has given the necessary notice to that effect to those affected. He also said that the board was aware of the illegal parking of heavy-duty vehicles within the Lafia metropolis, adding that the government has provided a conducive place for the parking of vehicles and where to load their vehicles.
"We are moving with mobile Court to prosecute the offenders. For the developer, come forward and show your papers before we embark on demolition. Any property that is not registered with the board would face demolition. So register your structures. If the need arises, the government will consider you for compensation", he exhorted. NNL.
