A Coalition group of youth under the auspices of Fanka Youth Group in Bauchi have drummed support for Senator Orji Ozor Kalu's candidacy as the 10th Senate President of the of Nigeria to be elected in June this year..
Besides, the group solicited for the seat of the 10th Senate to move to the South East in the interest of fairness and justice so as to give a sense of belonging to every part of the country, since both the President and Vice President have come from the South West and North East respectively.
They made their position known during the group's congress meeting held at its secretariat at the weekend in Bauchi State. It noted that only Senator Orji Uzor Kalu from the South East region can salvage the fortunes of the Red Chamber of the 10th National Assembly.
Comrade Danladi Solo who is the chairman of Fanka Group, argued that Dr Orji Uzor Kalu posses all that it takes to lead the Red Chamber of the National Assembly considering his antecedent as a businessman, politician and former governor of Abia State for two consecutive tenures (May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2007). He is currently serving as the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
According to the leader, the development, achievement and legacies of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu can not be over emphasis as his presence is virtually in all parts of this country.
The group believed that Orji Uzor Kalu is the only leader who embraces everyone irrespective of his or her religion, region and or ethnicity, adding that Kalu's believes in the unity and the progress of the country.
The group also called on other Senators to rally round the candidacy of Kalu and support him to emerge victorious as next Senate President.
Danladi Solo further disclosed that the group is planning to take the campaign the grassroots by mobilizing thousands of youth to trek down to Abuja by road for Kalu's support. NNL.
