Today, July 16, 2023, marks precisely one year, the people of Osun State voted governor Ademola Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into power.
Osun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, in a message personally signed by him, expressed great appreciation to the Osun electorates for voting the PDP to power in the Saturday, July 16, 2022 governorship election.
He assured the people of the state that governor Adeleke will not disappoint them and that the party will continue to do its best to ensure that the entire citizens of Osun state enjoys the democratic dividends.
The Osun PDP chairman wrote in the message thus: "You all rose from your homes, sacrificed your time and comfort and cast your votes for His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, whom you believed had a divine call to rescue the state from the claws of the tigers in human skin.
"You had done it four years earlier in 2018 but the power-that-be supervised a broad day robbery of your votes and smuggled Adegboyega Oyetola to the Government House. And what did he do with that stolen mandate? He shortchanged you under a pretext of service and mien of humility he lacked.
"Notwithstanding, you endured and patiently waited till July 16, 2023 when you paid him in his own coin with your mass votes for your trusted Governor Adeleke who has now transformed the texture of governance and shown you hope of a promising future.
"From November 27, 2022 when His Excellency was inaugurated till this morning, the administration has uncovered lots of things which confirmed those people were in government for four years only for the purpose of pursuing their personal goals at the expense of your welfare and future of your children.
"But gracefully, His Excellency has successfully blocked most of the leakages so far discovered and promised not to return the state to that era of impunity.
"There is nothing to do today other than giving thanks to God and to you, the good people of Osun State, for your belief in Governor Ademola Adeleke and your continued faith in his model of administration. We are assuring you that you would not have any cause to regret your choice of him as your leader.
"We are conscious of the fact that the opposition party is bereaved for the loss which you inflicted on them last year; we are, thus, not unmindful of their different plots to fight back through the instrumentality of blackmail, false alarms, fake news and other means of undermining this administration.
"But we are assuring you that the government is up to the task to repel their acts and expose them further to the world. We plead that you remain steadfast and wait for more dividends to be enjoyed in this truly democratic, responsive and responsible administration.
"Once again, we congratulate Osun State, while praying God to strengthen this administration in making this day a reference point of sucur to the good people of the state", Hon. Bisi stated. NNL.
