Residents of Bara District in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State have applauded Senator Shehu Buba Umar for coming to their aid following a devastating flood that left hundreds homeless.

The senator visited the community and donated ₦6.5 million alongside food supplies, mattresses, blankets, mats, wrappers, kaftan materials, and pillows to support affected families.
The relief effort came after floodwaters destroyed more than 360 houses, swept away farmlands, killed livestock, and claimed two lives in the community.

Speaking during the distribution of the items, Senator Buba sympathized with the victims and assured them that their plight would not be ignored.

Community leaders and beneficiaries praised the lawmaker's intervention, describing it as a demonstration of compassion and effective representation.

District Head of Bara, Alhaji Muhammadu Abdullahi, thanked the senator for responding promptly to the community's needs and pledged that the donations would be distributed fairly.

Several victims who spoke during the visit said Senator Buba had consistently shown concern for the welfare of his constituents, adding that the assistance would help many families recover from the disaster. NNL.
