The Christian Reformed Church Nigeria, CRC-N has said it is now time for the church in Nigeria to wade into the challenges of insecurity confronting the country and proffer solutions to it.

The church stated this position in a 5-Points Communique issued at the end of its 122nd General Church Council held in Takum, Taraba State.

The Synod directed that a report on the prevailing conflicts in Nigeria, causes, effects, and solutions, presented at the Synod be transmitted to the Peace Desk Unit of CRC-N to enable it to initiate conflict resolution seminars and workshops for critical stakeholders in order to reduce rates of conflicts in society.

The church reminded the Federal Government of its statutory responsibility of securing the lives of Nigerians and urged the Government to do everything possible to stop the reoccurring killings and attacks on innocent people in Nigeria.

The Synod observed that the prevailing conflicts in Nigeria such as ethnoreligious conflicts, insurgency, banditry, farmers-herders conflicts, and kidnappings, etc, have posed serious threats to national unity and corporate existence of the country, considering their devastating effects on human lives, which has consequently subjected families to untold hardship.

On answering God's call in difficult times, the church urged believers not to be discouraged by the challenges they may face, but to remain focused on Prayers, Perseverance and Sacrifice, in difficult times. Like Nehemiah in the scripture, the council urged believers never to be at ease in Zion. NNL.
