The Taraba State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has called on its members in the state to remain calm as the National Secretariat of NUT is working hard to address the challenges confronting the union in the state.
Recall that the leadership of the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has disassociated itself from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), an umbrella body that pilots the affairs of Primary School Teachers across the Country.
The Executive Chairman, TSUBEB in Taraba State, Dr. Yakubu Agbaizo, made the disclosure while inaugurating the new Officials of the Association of Basic Education Teachers in the State.
The event was held on New Year Eve at the Banquet Hall of Taraba Motel, Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. Agbaizo said TSUBEB has had a cordial working relationship with NUT, especially at the National level by supporting them to succeed.

He further disclosed that during its partnership with NUT, TSUBEB, never, at any time, failed to pay its dues.
"To my dismay, NUT failed to reciprocate the gesture but went ahead to disrespect the Board and Teachers from Taraba. We gave them every necessary support, particularly at the National level, but the way they related to us as second class citizens, using unguided utterances at our Leaders and Teachers, were appalling", he said.
The union assured her members that necessary actions are on top gear and that soon the union will bounce back in the state.
The union reiterated that Comrade Nathan Solomon remains it duly elected chairman in Taraba State. NNL.
