- * Ex-Senate President In Chance Meeting With Nyesom Wike, Receives Positive Words From Rivers Gov

Abia state governor, Dr. Victor Okezie Ikpeazu, has described Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, as a frontline presidential contender that Nigeria needs in the next dispensation in 2023.
Ikpeazu who gave Anyim and his visiting entourage a rousing warm reception said he (Anyim) is eminently qualified to fly the Presidential flag of their party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the upcoming 2023 Presidential election.
Governor Ikpeazu made these declarations on Sunday, January 2, 2022, when Senator Anyim paid him a new year visit at his country home in Ngwa, Abia State. He said based on Anyim's pedigree as a former Senate president, "he is one Nigerian who is eminently qualified to lead the country and restore Nigeria to her path glory".
Also at a chance meeting with Anyim in governor Ikpeazu's countryside residence on Anyim's arrival with his delegation that day, Rivers State governor, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, expressed great delight with the zeal and tenacity of the former leader of the National Assembly in his presidential aspiration, and particularly, in his nationwide consultations with the leaders and people of Nigeria.
Wike however gave Senator Anyim very cheering words of support amidst warm exchange of pleasantries and camaraderie before saying to Anyim: "My good brother, l hand you over to my brother here, governor Okezie Ikpeazu".

The convivial interaction among the three eminent PDP leaders and other dignitaries present, generated more laughter and backslappings before governor Wike hurried out for another scheduled engagements elsewhere.
Ikpeazu, while welcoming Senator Anyim and his visiting team to his residence, recalls that Anyim's several statesmanly roles in Nigeria over the years, placed him at a vantage position to understand the challenges of the country and how to solve them better.
The Abia governor advised Anyim not to forget to market the enviable credentials which he would bring to bear in the presidency of Nigeria as an Igbo man. He pointed out that an average Igboman has the innate propensity of turning a desert into a fertile land once given an opportunity.
Rhetorically, Ikpeazu said, "the challenges in Sambisa forest will easily become a business opportunity for an Igbo man as he would quickly create an economic heaven that will even disarm the terrorists". He further advised Anyim to work hard to restore the trust and confidence of other segments of the country on the ability and sincerity of Igboman to govern the country as a Nigerian.
Governor Ikpeazu reiterated that the president of Nigeria of Igbo extraction will surely bring about tremendous economic growth, job creation opportunities, internal unity and national cohesion. According to him, the Igbo presence everywhere in Nigeria is a true reflection that they are indeed the real face of the country.
Ikpeazu who spoke in the presence of some of his cabinets and members of the State Assembly, reassured Senator Anyim that Abia is in the journey together with him.
Responding, Anyim told the governor and some of his cabinet members that since they have all agreed that the president of Nigeria of Igbo extraction will bring prosperity to the country, he has therefore come to solicit their support.
Anyim also stated that the Nigerian project is a collective one. He assures them that he is going to the presidency to work for Nigeria which will include the interests of the South, the East and the North. NNL.
