As alignment and realignment ahead of the next political dispensation continue, the Campaign for Democracy (CD)- Civil Society Organisation (CSO) in Niger state have advised all opposition political parties to ensure unity and cohesion without which they cannot achieve the common goal of winning the election.
The CD-CSO in a statement jointly signed by; Comrade Abdullahi Mohammed, the Chairman of CD-CSO Coalition, Niger state, Comrade Tayo Ayobami and Alhaji Lawal Ibrahim, Secretary and Publicity Secretary of the Coalition respectively said forming a strong common front is the only panacea that will earn opposition voices the desired win.
The purpose of achieving common goal, according to the statement is to mobilize citizens for alternative emerging new leaders in Niger state to compete favourably with the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The CD-CSO Coalition nevertheless commended Niger state government's relative performances and achievements so far by the Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago led APC administration in the past three years.
The Coalition encouraged the state government to proactively engage citizens in the areas of social welfare, improved health-care, re-building Education sector, pension matters, supply and distribution of portable water amongst others.
With improved electricity, transportation services and human security, safety of lives and properties of citizens will to earn the administration peoples confidence, voters and electorates as build up to the campaign for 2027 general elections.
Many Nigerlites, the Coalition observed are yearning for good governance and compassionate leaders with the fear of God to ensure improvements in the quality of people’s lives and welfare of citizens.
The statement expressed preparedness of the CD-CSO Coalition to in partnership with critical stakeholders, community leaders, professional bodies and the media to organize town hall inter-face citizen’s participation and engagement dialogue with the Bago led administration for his three years achievements and stewardship.
On the Osun state election, the CD-CSO wants the federal government and its relevant agencies involved in the Osun governorship election to ensure free, fair, transparent, credible electoral process with zero tolerance to election malpractices and violence before, during and after the polls. NNL.
