Khamzid Charity Foundation has unveiled an ambitious programme to train and empower 100,000 women and youths across Nigeria through vocational and entrepreneurship development aimed at reducing poverty and promoting self-reliance.
The initiative, known as the Tijjaniyya Youth Economic Development Initiative (TYEDI), was officially launched during the inauguration of state officials and 20 Local Government Coordinators in Bauchi.
Chairman of the Foundation, Khalil Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, said about 20,000 beneficiaries would come from Bauchi State, while the programme would later expand across the North-East, North-West and North-Central regions.
He explained that participants would receive training in 22 market-driven skills, including agriculture, livestock production, tailoring, digital services, printing, shoe and bag making, and computer operations.
According to him, beneficiaries will also receive start-up kits, business support tools, financial grants and post-training mentorship to help them establish sustainable businesses.
Programme Coordinator, Muhammad Abubakar Dahir, said the initiative seeks to build a network of one million skilled and economically active youths through continuous training, mentorship and community engagement.
He appealed to governments, development partners and philanthropists to support the initiative, describing youth empowerment as a critical investment in national peace and economic development. NNL.
