Foremost Child Right Activist, Mrs Ogechi Ikeh, was on Thursday, November 5, 2026 formally inaugurated as the newly elected State Coordinator of the Network Against Child Trafficking, Abuse and Labour (NACTAL), Imo State.
Ogechi who took her oath of office same day, expressed delight over the new appointment which she says would offer her the opportunity to address the intractable issue of child trafficking, abuse and forced labour perpetrated by some predatory criminal elements.
Ogechi who is a renowned activist based in Imo state, said among her prime agenda of action to welcome the opportunities for collaboration, strategic partnerships, support, and sponsorship towards advancing her collective mandate.
"As I assume this responsibility, I warmly welcome opportunities for collaboration, strategic partnerships, support, and sponsorship towards advancing our collective mandate.
"The growing menace of child trafficking, abuse, and child labour in our society, particularly across the South-East, calls for urgent, deliberate, and collective action. We cannot afford to stand by while the safety, dignity, and future of our children are threatened.
"Furthermore, the emerging trends of digital violence and online exploitation present additional challenges to the efforts of various workstreams and stakeholders working tirelessly to protect children.
"We must unite our voices, strengthen our partnerships, and intensify our efforts to protect our children and keep them safe—both offline and online.
"I look forward to working with you all as we build a stronger network and create meaningful, sustainable impact. Together, we can make a difference! Thank you for your continued support and solidarity", the new NACTAL boss stated. NNL.
