The Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District and a chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has expressed profound sadness over the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, which claimed the lives of personnel and passengers on board.
Tambuwal, in a condolence message posted on his X handle described the tragedy as a loss to the entire nation and extended his sympathies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of the Air Staff and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria.
While conveying his deepest condolences to the immediate families, loved ones and colleagues of the deceased, Senator Tambuwal acknowledged the devastating impact of the sudden loss.
“Behind each life lost is a family whose world has changed forever. No words can ease the anguish of such a sudden separation,” Tambuwal noted.
Tambuwal, who was the Speaker of the 7th National Assembly, said the services and sacrifices of all fallen personnel whose lives were cut short, will never be forgotten from the history of this nation, even as he assured the bereaved families of his solidarity during this difficult period.
The Senator and immediate past governor of Sokoto state submitted that while investigations proceed, adequate care and support for the affected families must be assured even as necessary steps are been taken to prevent a recurrence.
"May Almighty God grant eternal rest to the departed, comfort their loved ones and give them the strength to bear the irreparable loss", Senator Tambuwal prayed. NNL.
