An eyewitness in the explosion that rocked a community in Taraba State, Danladi Talus Jalala, has said that he was very present when the incident occurred.
He confirmed to NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Correspondent on Thursday April 21, 2022, that when he saw about thirty corpses and not, 3, 6, or 16 as the police claimed, after the devastating blast.
The bomb was suspected to have been planted by two young men who came to a local beer joint as customers and ordered for drinks after sitting at vantage position to execute their plans.
After allegedly planting the bomb, one of them was said to have immediately left the joint and after few minutes the second person followed, and shortly afterwards, the bomb exploded.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Governor, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, has condemned, in strong terms, the recent bomb attack.
In a press statement issued by his media aide, Bala Dan Abu, governor Ishaku described the attack as barbaric, wicked and an act of unprovoked aggression against innocent people. He urged security agencies to go after the perpetrators of the heinous crime and to make them pay for their sins.
The governor expressed sympathy with the families of those killed in the attack and promised Government's assistance to those injured and those receiving treatment in hospitals.
Ishaku urged Tarabans to be vigilant always and to report strange visitors to their communities promptly to security agencies and traditional authorities in their communities.
The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Joseph Albasu Kunini, also condemned the attack. He made the condemnation of the attack during the plenary session, describing as a dastard act by some faceless people who are bestial and inhuman, considering the fact that the State has enjoyed relative peace.
He decried the disdainful and dastard act by the miscreants, saying that they came at a time when the State Government has been doing everything humanly possible for peace to reign in the State and ensure security of lives and property of the people. NNL.
