In a bid to ensure maximum participation of women in the electoral process, the office of the Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has taken its voter sensitization drive on participation in the electoral process to Kabusa Ward in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
Speaking at the sensitization programme on Wednesday, the APC Women Leader, FCT, Hon Mrs Hailmary Aipoh, said the programme was designed to sensitize the women on the importance of exercising their civic responsibility as well as obtaining their permanent voter’s cards (PVCs) and also casting their votes in the 2023 general elections.
She urged the women to obtain their PVCs and ensure that their votes count in the forthcoming elections. “This is the period when you realise that your PVC is your right. We have heard of so many women saying that they don’t have PVCs, they are not voting and they are not involved in decision-making"
“So, we decided to sensitize our women. That is why we came to Kabusa Ward, inside the village, to educate our women that PVC is their right. PVC will make them choose the right person. So we are here to sensitize them to make sure they come out and get this PVC because PVC is their right", she said.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also on ground to enrol those who were yet to register for their PVCs. NNL.
