Bauchi State House of Assembly has warned contractors handling renovation and construction of classrooms in schools under the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, against shaddy execution of the projects.
The Chairman House Committee of Education, Babayo Akuyum, handed down the warning yesterday during an oversight function of the 2017/2018 SUBEB Universal Basic Education project in three local government areas of Ningi, Warji and Ganjuwa.
Babayo said that contractors that handled the renovations of schools in the areas used substandard materials, unqualified personnels and compromised the contract specifications among others.
"The contractors that handled the renovation and construction project in those schools in the local governments did not adhere to the contract specifications.This time around, they must keep to the contractual agreement as this administration will not condole any act of laxity in the area of execution of projects" he said
He urged the contractors to discharge their duties in accordance with the contractual agreement as government will not condole any breach of agreement entered into with them.
The Chairman House Committee on educate stated that the visit became imperative to ensure that the rigth was done as government spent huge amount to provide a conducive learning environment for teachers and students. NNL.
