A leading governorship candidate on the platform of Action Alliance (AA) party in the Saturday, November 6, 2021, gubernatorial election in Anambra state, Chief Ben Etiaba, on Monday, August 16, 2021, re-stated his adequate preparedness to give quality and accountable governance to the people of Anambra if elected as governor.
In a brief memo of commitment to his governorship project, Etiaba stressed that he was not in contention for the Anambra top job for the fun of the exercise, but has fully prepared himself overtime to ensure that Ndi Anambra would not regret their mandate, if given the opportunity on November 6, to serve them.
Etiaba, popularly known as "Ifennia Nnewi" promised that he and his running mate, Mrs. Regina Uchebo, a formidable grassroots mobilizer and fondly referred to as "Ada Di Ogo" (a unique lady), were turbocharged to precipitate uncommon dividends of democracy to the electorates and to the state of Anambra, known as the "Light of the Nation".
"My running mate and I are fully prepared and ready to serve ‘The Light of the Nation’.
Etiaba pledges thus in the words of the icon of humanity, the venerable Mother Theresa: “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples. Politically, if we dive into the depths of spirituality, we will rise high to our goal of selflessness in the service of our people.
"I run for the office of Governor on a five-point agenda, often repeated every election cycle by politicians seeking elective office. The difference is that I do have the courage to drive through this agenda if elected", he promised.
Recalling the immortal words of the late Mahatma Gandhi when he said, that "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others", Etiaba assured that his faith in his political bid certainly will "replace doubt, while striving to earn the opportunity to serve Anambra State selflessly".
The former Chairman of Enugu Sports Club and a UK-trained Accountant also re-affirmed his commitment to working with and uplifting the youths and women of the state in his journey to becoming governor and when he receives the mandate of the people. He particularly expresses his faith in the ability of women as worthy and effective companions in societal engineering and family building.
This, he further echoes in the wisdom of the Director-General, World Trade Organization (WTO), renowned Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala: "Investing in women is smart economics, and investing in girls, catching them upstream is even smarter economics".
Etiaba however urged the Anambra electorates to deliberately shun money bags in the state whose agenda for the people might not be to really offer the needed service. NNL.
