It's very fun to play old 90s virtual games but it can be very annoying to play with its original 4.3 aspect ratio but thanks to a new mod you can actually play with the widescreen to remove all those black bars or annoyingly stretched images.
And that is just amazing because with this mod the game is now more suitable for modern displays you know your wide screen monitors.
The Super Mario world wide screen mod was created by a ROM hacker known as Vitor vilela And this was done by modifying the game's original internal resolution from a 256* 224 internal resolution to a 352 x 224 resolution to be suitable for 16:9 aspect ratio and for 16:10 monitor displays and support for Ultra wide screens is planned future release.
You can actually find instructions on how to install this mod on the developers GitHub page but you have to go search for your own Super Mario World ROM and though that will be very tough to find because Nintendo is literally going after websites that distribute ROMs of their games now given that this mod is just for the Super Mario World it will be interesting to see this mods being able to apply to all kinds of Nintendo SNES games so that we can enjoy the old games in all their glory
