Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu kefas, has approved the appointment of the Taraba State Correspondent of the Daily Independent Newspaper, Hon. Janet Audu Nyajon as Special Advisers.
Also appointed as Adviser is the PUNCH Newspaper Reporter in the state, Mr Justin Tyopuusu.
This was made known in a statement in Jalingo by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps.
Hon. Janet Audu Nyajon and Tyopuusu who are currently members of the Correspondents' Chapel in the Taraba State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) are expected to bring on board their professional expertise in the administration of Governor Kefas.
Hon. Janet Audu hails from Wukari local government of Taraba State. She started her journalism career in 2003 with the Daily Independent till date, which she has helped to improve the visibility of the newspaper in the state and beyond.
Hon. Janet has been recognized as a prolific writer and receiver of various awards from the state government, Daily Independent and various social organizations.
Hon. Janet served as the face of motivation to many women who wished to contest for a political seat. She contested for the Taraba State hmHouse of Assembly in 2019 and in 2023 which set her on the limelight as a political stakeholders in the state.
Also, Tyopuusu from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, began his journalism career with National Accord Newspaper in Abuja in 2010 and joined the services of Nigeria Sunrise Newspaper in 2011 and resigned in 2014 to Joined National Mirror Newspaper. He joined PUNCH in 2017 and has been on their staff membership till date. NNL.
