Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has sent his Sallah greetings to the Muslim community in Adamawa State as faithfuls join their counterparts across the globe to celebrate this years Eid-el-Kabir, Sallah celebration.

Fintiri called on them to re-dedicate themselves to making Adamawa state a model of peace and harmonious living. He said peace and harmony were necessary in order for residents to continue to enjoy the blessings of Allah, which, according to him, continue to abound in our communities.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wono Sikou, said the governor urged the people to use the period Sallah as another opportunity to totally submit to the will of the Almighty Allah, and to see the occasion as an opportunity to renew interaction with their fellow human beings and their duties to Allah. He urged the people to reflect more on the reason for man's creation and to make moves to be closer to Allah.

He said, "As Muslims savour the joy of the occasion across the globe, I urge you to demonstrate the spirit of tolerance, unity, love, forgiveness, compassion and peace that Islam enshrined"

While wishing all Muslims in the State and across the world, a very exciting celebration during this occasion of piety and sacrifice, governor Fintiri further noted that "Allah implore us all as leaders and followers in our different stations in life to continue to hold on steadfastly to the tenets of hope, sacrifice and restoration as outlined in the central message of Eid-el-Kabir.

He called on the citizens of the state to eschew bitterness and acrimony, urging them to embrace peace at all times. NNL.
