The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained 50 persons for the 2021 post sustainable agricultural development training scheme (Post-SADTS) in Sokoto.

This training, according to the NDE, is to help beneficiaries identify value addition in the agric business sector.

Post-SADTS is one of the many ways by which NDE strives towards engaging unemployed youths of Nigeria in line with President Muhammadu Buhari's agenda of lifting millions of unemployed youths out of poverty.

Speaking in a welcome address, the acting HoD of NDE Rural Promotion Department (REP), Malama Falmatu Hassan, said the program will not only help improve the quality of the lives of the beneficiaries but also in the long run positively impact society in general.

The Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fipko, represented by the Sokoto State Coordinator of NDE, Mrs. Eunice Danmallam, in a keynote address, assured that the training will promote high productivity in the agric business chain.

Fipko who said that all the 50 beneficiaries are graduates of the NDE Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS) also appealed to Nigerians to support NDE towards addressing unemployment.

Said Fipko, "the Post-SADTS training will help provide agricultural skills, provide employment, remove drudgery from the practice of agriculture, encourage youths to embrace agriculture as a means of livelihood, expand their sources of income as well as enhance the quality of their lives".

Appreciating the NDE on behalf of another participant, Shehu Sambo, said the majority of them have started utilizing the previous training given to them by the NDE, hence the need to continually appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari. NNL.
